"The Effects of Processed Food in Your Belly"

It's hard trying to avoid processed food.

Processed food is mainly about convenience.

Fast food restaurants and every prepackaged meal are examples of processed foods. One of many truths about these foods is that they can clog up the digestive system.

Processed foods are not only packaged for convenience but also carry preservatives in them. Preservatives in packaged foods come in the forms of a high level of sodium (salt) and/or dangerous chemicals. If companies did not use preservatives, it would be hard for them to mass produce these food products, as they will go bad.

Are there any side effects when we eat them?

Of course there are!

Headaches, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and an increased chance of getting a stroke
are only a few of the side effects that could come with processed food.

Our bodies are meant to digest only natural foods and not preservatives. We need sodium in our daily diet but if we eat too much of it, our cholesterol and blood levels change dramatically - not a good thing. Other chemicals they use to preserve foods are man-made - meaning it's not good for us, period. A lot of companies will also give their livestock and vegetation, steroids (growth hormone). Steroids will grow them bigger and faster in a shorter amount of time, but what Man fails to admit is that it has a negative effect on us.

Examples of processed foods are; processed meats (sausages), ready-to-go salad, soups, dairy, soft drinks, candy, fast food, cheese, packaged meals, pizza, etc.

You may have notice the packed salad mix in the above sentence. Most processed foods have preservatives in them but the odd ones may not. Other than the prepared salad, you can also find packaged nuts and fruits. It is best to check the sodium level on the nutrition label and the ingredients on the item. If the ingredients list has some odd, long and complicated name description, as it is probably something to help preserve it.

At any time you are unaware of what an ingredient is, like Propylparaben or Hydroxybenzonate, you should most definitely check online and see what it is before you buy it. The two chemicals listed are preservatives and they are very dangerous to our health.

It's not bad to eat at the Golden Arches once in a blue moon, but when we eat that stuff every day, that's when it gets to be a problem.
