"Master Cleanse Diet: for Keeping Dirt Clean"
Picture
Enemas, the use of laxatives and any other form of artificial colon treatment is not necessary. Another fasting diet that was only yet another fad is the Master Cleanse diet.

This has actually been around for quite some time.

Does this work?

Well let's see if it does.

The Master Cleanse fasting diet consists of the elimination of certain foods, but most importantly; a sodium and laxative gimmick.

Just like most of these programs, they use gimmicks to promote rapid weight loss. With that knowledge alone, a person should turn around and run away as fast as possible.

It claims that by using sea salt (sodium), you can help flush out the body of toxins. I believe it's called the "salt water flush".

At any rate, sodium is sodium. Sea salt and table salt is made of the same compound. The only major difference is that sea salt comes from the sea and table salt comes from deposits in the ground. They both contain the same nutritional value and both can contain water. Both salts do taste different. It's a matter of where they come from and how they are processed that makes them different. Sea salt is also promoted as being a healthier more nutritional choice because of where it comes from.

How will salt help you lose weight?

Salt will help you gain weight and not lose it. When you eat salt, it will absorb the water that is in your body. Your body then gets thirsty for more water and so you have the urge to drink more. When you drink more water, you gain more weight. You can urinate but if you continue with eating salt to try and lose weight, all you do is gain more weight. The weight that you will gain will be only temporary as it's about the salt containing the water weight and your stomach and body holding the extra water you drink.

Laxatives are not necessary either.

Laxatives, as you already know, are supposed to force flush your system out. You can do this in an easier and healthy way by adding in more fiber in your diet - an essential nutrient that is rarely called a nutrient. Laxatives can also leave you feeling dehydrated meaning that you may feel tired and want to drink more. Again here, you will probably drink more water meaning you will gain more weight - even though it is temporary.

Laxatives and salt are not a good way to lose weight but a good way to temporarily gain weight. Lemonade is also a part of this fasting diet. The diet turns out to be more of a liquid diet. From salt, lemons and laxative your body will fail to get the proper nutrients that it needs. This diet is also advertised as a "detox" diet.

Your body will naturally get rid of the waste and toxins that need to be disposed of. There is no need for "chemical cleaning agents" for your body. Your body is a perfect symphony of systems, organs and cells. Any colon cleansing or detox product will feed the companies' profits and not take the fat off of your belly.

The Master Cleanse Diet is a fail.

You won't get the nutrients you need and will gain weight as opposed to lose the weight. Not to mention that Man-made laxatives are unhealthy.

See you in a week...
